Not All Boulder Painting Contractors Are The Same!

Choosing a Boulder Painting Company is not as easy as it should be! Especially in this economy.

It seems that when times are tough, it brings out all types of people, and unfortunately, it also brings out the "worst" element!

In order to make sure you are protected and not exposed to getting your money taken and no work done, it's better to be "safe than sorry". Here are a few things you should look for when hiring a Boulder Painting Contractor:

* Workman's Comp Insurance - Some Boulder Painting Contractors tell you they have "Insurance", and they may have liability Insurance, but that only covers the items in your home. Workman's Comp Insurance ensures the Painters that are working on your home are covered in the event of an accident while working on your home! Not having Workman's Comp Insurance could leave you responsible for a painter being injured while working in your home!

* Estimates/Bid's In Writing- This is a big one to watch out for; I have had people call me that fell for the "lowest bid" and then got a big surprise after their Boulder Painting Contractor got half way through the job and "surprised" them with a "correction" in pricing. The customer did not know what to do, they had already paid half of their payment and had a half-painted-house. They were less than satisfied, but could not really fire the contractor and hire a new one. They told me they felt like they were taken advantage of.

* What Type Of Paint Is Going To Be Used - a lot of people rely on their Boulder Painting Contractor to use their "expertise" when choosing paint, however, some contractors use this to "squeeze" out extra profit. If a Boulder Painting Contractor uses "Contractor Grade" paint, it is usually "watered-down" and does not last nearly last as long as "Premium Brand Paint. In Colorado - The Weather is not very nice to "Contractor Grade Paint" and your home will need paint again before you know it!

* When Will The Job Be Done - Don't let a 1 week project turn into 3 months. Some Boulder Painting Contractors start a project with the best intentions...but then get bogged down with 4-5 other projects, next thing you know you have 3 painters working today and 1 tomorrow and none for weeks on end. This is usually a result of having to pull Painters off the job to paint other Boulder homes.
